Committee Reports: Chuck Taylor said he will be trimming down the membership list by removing non-paying members, so please check with Treasurer Darren Earle to ensure you have paid your annual dues.

There will be a new turning bee chairman announced soon.

Gary Runyon is still offering class on sharping planes and chisels. Contact Gary to set up time.

Club picnic is September 24th at Falls Mill 10:30am-2pm. The sign-up sheet was passed around the attending members. It will be sent out via email after Jim cleans up the sign-up sheet and forwards to Chuck.

Coffee County Fair September 3rd-10th. Jim discussed the schedule. We will begin Monday, Labor Day, Sep 5th from 1-8PM. Monday is also free admission for all active military, veterans, and first responders so it should be pretty busy! We will support Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 5-8 PM. We will support both Friday 9 Sep, Kids Day and Saturday 10 Sep from 1-8pm. Sign-up sheet passed for volunteers to work. Discussion of getting sign to use at fair and other activities. Loyd Ackerman provided a fun video showing the construction of the TVW building and previous fair activities to incentivize volunteers. Please contact Jim Jolliffe at jim.jolliffe@icloud.com if you want to support, or just come on out! We are looking for the TVW Banners to hang at the Fair. (Post meeting update—two were located. Thanks Chuck Taylor and Doyle McConnell!!)

Klingspor discount: Sign-up sheet passed around for any member who wants to get discount from Klingspor.

Still furniture refinishing opportunity. Contact Matt Brothers if interested.

Carving Bee September 17th. Sign-up sheet passed around. The Carvers will begin at 9 AM. The bee will include a short overview of carving tools, techniques and styles. We will then let participants pick a project and have mentors help them with the project.

SHOW and TELL:
Matt Brothers with the use of pictures showed how he made corbels for a contractor working on an old house. He also showed pictures of a nightstand and chest of drawers he made for his grand-daughter.

Vince Zaccardi showed pictures of artistic pieces from the American Association of Woodworkers and Carvers. The art included a “swamp still” made from wood. He also brought a turning tool which had become too short to sharpen and explained how to use it in a different way. Instead of a rounded grind, he ground it straight at the end of the tool and it became a custom beading tool. Ingenious!

Program – CLUB AUCTION:
The Club’s Program was our annual auction of tools and member-created works to raise money for the Club. Auctioneers Jim Jolliffe and Matt Brothers did a fine job describing each of the items for members to bid. Bidding was fun and raised money (initial report was more than $1,000) for club. Treasurer will submit a final report of bids and amount raised.
Meeting adjourned.
