Paul Fulks told club Blue Monarch, a group helping abused women and addiction, need volunteers to make shelves, create a book reading nook for kids, and refinish oak table. Anyone interested in helping contact Jack Kincella. More information on Blue Monarch available on you tube.

Paul also told club, Jack Hoffman of Womack Nursery is giving first chance to members to tear down 2 buildings, a 30x50' barn and a 16x12' chicken house.

Paul also addressed the Manchester Rotary Club about our club. Successful meeting.

SHOW AND TELL:
Greg Meyers brought a piece of intarsia. A bear he made at the Judy Gayle Roberts seminar.
Karen Browning showed a peppermill made of apple wood from her Dad's farm. Finish lacquer.
Ross Roepke had a really nice table he is making with the center of burl.
John Hartin showed a bowl he made.
Bob Truesdale brought a bowl made from American Walnut. Finished with 5-6 coats tung oil.
David Sapp had bowl made of Ambrosia Maple finished with danish oil. He also had a piece made from maple and has plug ebony finish. This was made at Aeromont in Gatlinburg.

Program: Mike Zinser Tennessee Association Of Woodworkers

Mike joined TAW in 1991and is active in charity work. He talked to the club about Narrow Gate Lodge which helps young men. Narrow Gate is in Hickman County and is a non-profit organization. They have 122 acres and David showed film of their work.

Mike shared that with Woodcraft of Franklin that over 15,000 pens have been turned and donated to troops.
He also brought and showed some really neat pieces that he has turned. He explained how designs were made including off axis turning and finishing.

David Sapp, also a member of TAW spoke about their upcoming Symposium. The symposium will be January 26th-27th, 2018 in Nashville. For information go to tnwoodturners.org.
