Ross Roepke brought the spalted maple veneer that he made during the latest shop tours. He also showed a piece of mahogany veneer that he glued to a backing board.

Ken Gould brought a small frog carving. He also brought some “segmented” trash cart wheels. He discussed the restoration work he had done on an old chest (built in 1945).

John Mayberry brought his finished maple and cherry segmented vase. The vase was designed and built, as a result of Loyd’s workshop.

David Whyte brought and donated an 8” dado blade to the club to be used in an auction later in the year.

Tom Gillard gave a slide presentation of a wind tunnel section that he is building in his shop. The project is too large to bring to “show & tell”.

PROGRAM:

The program was presented by Ed White and the topic was “Photography”. Ed discussed many facets of photography work that can be used to make the best and most pleasing photos of your woodworking projects. He discussed the equipment that can be used and the best techniques to utilize the equipment.

Ed mentioned the critical issues to address when composing a picture and stressed that lighting was the single most critical issue when taking great photos.

He presented multiple examples of pictures with various lighting techniques and explained why some shots were good and others not so good. Most poor shots were the results of improper lighting conditions.

Refreshments were provided by the Ryans and Bryants.
